Long Weekend to Remember

Wow. What a weekend.

Absolutely fantastic weather, swimming at the kiddie beach, a water skiing show, a firework show, swimming in the lake, riding Mr. Besso's wave runner, a night at the drive-in to see Harry Potter, (although JT stayed home with Grandma on that one) and Jackson's first serious foray in his new inflatable!

His Daddy even got to go on an awesome ATV ride on the old stone road!

Yup, it was a full weekend. Not that many pictures however. Sorry to disappoint, but Daddy couldn't find time to even pick up a camera, there was so much happening.

We got up Friday evening and the fun began from there. Saturday we went to the Boston Pizza on Muskoka Bay, overlooking the lake where the Segwun Steamship docks. After dinner and a fun skiing exhibit we drank our coffee while watching an impressive firework show that nearly burned down the harbour. (literally) And unlike Jackson's last experience with fireworks, he didn't even cry!

The next day Jim Besso was kind enough to let Mommy and Daddy go for a ride on his waverunner. It was Dad's first time, so unfortunately an incorrect mounting procedure dumped the craft and Mr. Besso into the lake... colour me embarrassed.

Luckily he wasn't too angry that he wouldn't take me on a great ride through the Old Stone Road, a trail Sue and I have hiked a number of times but never driven. Grandpa leant me his ATV and I followed Mr. Besso further down the trail than I've ever been.

What a blast! Man, it was fun. I actually yelled out "Whooo-Hooo" a few times.

Not a cloud in site all weekend until yesterday when we drove home.

Of course, Jackson was a saint all weekend. We finally got him in his inflatable this time (see picture) after an unsuccessful attempt a few weekends ago. He didn't like it previously, but this time he laughed his little bum off... especially when Daddy pretended to be a shark!
