The York-Durham Heritage Railway in Uxbridge offer rides for the kids with Santa during the Holiday season. We thought it would be an opportunity to let the boys ride on a train, which they love, and meet Santa to tell him their wishes for Christmas gifts. The train travels between Uxbridge and Goodwood through the Oakridges Moraine offering a very scenic ride with freshly fallen snow on the trees. The boys were very excited once they boarded the train and wouldn't stay seated, up and down, looking out the window, switching seats with each other, looking at the other passengers etc. There were carols playing and festive decorations throughout the train as well as a clown and train staff interacting with the kids. Santa takes the time to stop at every seat and chats with the children and takes photos. When Santa finally arrived at our seats Tyler wanted nothing to do with him, Jackson reluctantly agreed to sit on his lap and told Santa he wanted a race car for Christmas. Ty never did tell Santa what he wished for. As you can see from the photo they agreed to take their picture with Santa as long as Daddy stayed with them. Tyler still wasn't sure about this strange man in a red suit. We enjoyed the trip, it was a good way of seeing Santa without standing in a line-up at the mall!
